This week, we caught up with Jade Power, ESG & Contracts Manager at Glenpatrick Spring & Kilkenny Nutritional. We started by exploring how Jade came to Glenpatrick.
“After spending time in the United States, I returned home to complete my law degree, before pursuing further studies in business, completing both a Postgraduate Diploma in Business and a Master’s in Business, with a specialisation in Marketing. I joined Glenpatrick in January 2020, and since then I have had the opportunity to take on a variety of roles and responsibilities across the business.”
Those roles have included managing various areas, establishing an in-house Customs Department, overseeing Logistics and Customs operations, supporting the development and implementation of the Warehouse Management System Blue Horizons, and more recently, leading initiatives within ESG and contracts management. Her career path reflects a constant willingness to learn and take on new challenges, a quality that has been central to her success at Glenpatrick.
How ESG Took Shape at Glenpatrick
Sustainability has always been part of Glenpatrick’s identity. Long before ESG became the recognised framework it is today, sustainability principles were embedded in daily operations. Jade notes that the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) has been a turning point:
“The recent spotlight provided by the CSRD has allowed ESG to emerge more visibly, aligning sustainability and marketing as complementary forces. Much of the groundwork on sustainability strategies began years ago in Glenpatrick Spring, and now we are seeing these efforts not only mature but also resonate in the marketplace.”
ESG at Glenpatrick is not confined to a single department. Success relies on the collective effort of every employee, both within the company and across the wider Queally Group. Jade highlights the importance of this: “While ESG and Sustainability Managers often work as a department of few to one, the reality is that success depends on every employee across all functions contributing to the shared goals. We are fortunate to have an engaged and motivated workforce that consistently demonstrates commitment to sustainability initiatives, targets, and long-term ESG objectives.”
“Strong partnerships are essential to any ESG journey. At Glenpatrick, working with trusted experts like Visiongreen Consultancy on our 2023 Carbon Emissions review and Activ8 Energies on our Solar Power Project has allowed us to turn ambition into action, ensuring real progress towards a more sustainable future.”

Looking Ahead
Momentum continues to build. Glenpatrick has been shortlisted in three categories at the upcoming Irish Business Energy Awards, a recognition that caps an already successful year. The company is also commissioning a major new Canning Line investment, which will allow Glenpatrick to offer both private label and co-packing canning services to the Irish market. Once launched, it will be the only business of its kind in the private label and co-packing industry, a significant step that strengthens its market position.
