We are seeking a skilled and experienced Carbon Reporting Specialist to join our dynamic sustainability consultancy team. As a Carbon Reporting Specialist within the reporting division of our sustainability consultancy, you will play a critical role in driving accurate and impactful carbon reporting initiatives for our diverse range of clients. This position demands a skilled professional with expertise in greenhouse gas emissions tracking, regulatory compliance and a passion for advancing sustainable practices.


About you:

As a Carbon Reporting Specialist, you will harness your expertise in emissions tracking and reporting to distil intricate carbon data into meaningful insights for our clients. Your unwavering commitment to staying abreast of evolving reporting standards and industry best practices will ensure the delivery of accurate and impactful results. Embracing a collaborative approach, you will actively engage with a diverse team of engineers, consultants and clients, fostering a dynamic environment for effective problem-solving and sustainable solutions.


Key Responsibilities:

Emissions Reporting:

  • Lead the collection, validation, and reporting of greenhouse gas emissions data from client operations.

  • Ensure compliance with international standards such as the GRI, CSRD, GHG Protocol, ISO 14064 and relevant regional regulations.


Client Collaboration:

  • Engage with clients to understand their unique carbon reporting needs and sustainability goals.

  • Provide guidance and support in the development and implementation of effective emissions reduction strategies.


Data Analysis:

  • Conduct detailed data analysis to identify emission sources, trends, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather and analyse data from various sources for comprehensive reporting.


Reporting Framework Development:

  • Design and implement robust carbon reporting frameworks aligned with industry best practices for Scope 1,2,3 emissions.

  • Stay updated on emerging reporting standards and contribute to the continuous improvement of reporting methodologies.


Stakeholder Communication:

  • Effectively communicate carbon reporting findings to clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.

  • Support clients in preparing for external audits and verification processes.


Educational Initiatives:

  • Develop and deliver training sessions to clients and internal teams on carbon reporting methodologies and best practices.

  • Stay informed about evolving sustainability trends and share insights with the broader team.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., Environmental Science, Applied Science, Sustainability, Carbon Management, Accounting, Engineering). 

  • 2+ years of experience in carbon reporting, emissions tracking, or a similar role.


Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of greenhouse gas accounting principles and methodologies.

  • Knowledge of regional and international carbon reporting regulations.

  • Familiarity with carbon accounting software and data management tools.

  • Excellent data analysis and interpretation skills.

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel.

  • Effective communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to data accuracy and integrity.

  • Ability to exercise sound judgement with minimal supervision.

  • Applicants should have their own transport and a full clean driving licence.
