About the role:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Business Development Manager to join our dynamic sustainability consultancy team. As Business Development Manager at our sustainability consultancy, you will be a key driver in expanding our client base and fostering strategic partnerships. This role demands a dynamic professional with a passion for sustainability, a proven track record in sales and business development, and the ability to communicate the value of our sustainability solutions to diverse stakeholders.

About you:

You will be creative, an excellent communicator, a self-starter and able to work on your own initiative. You will have experience in a similar role / environment and be flexible to work across business operations where needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Acquisition:

  • Identify and cultivate relationships with potential clients, understanding their sustainability needs and introducing our suite of consultancy's services.

  • Develop and execute strategies to expand the client base and meet revenue targets.

Strategic Partnerships:

  • Identify and initiate partnerships with organizations, government entities, and industry stakeholders to enhance our consultancy's market presence.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to create mutually beneficial partnership agreements.

Market Analysis:

  • Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscape within the sustainability and environmental consulting sector.

  • Provide insights to shape our consultancy's service offerings and positioning.

Proposal Development:

  • Work closely with technical teams to craft compelling and tailored proposals in response to client needs.

  • Ensure proposals align with the consultancy's sustainability values and objectives.

Networking and Events:

  • Attend industry events, conferences, and networking functions to represent the consultancy and build relationships within the sustainability community.

  • Leverage networking opportunities to generate leads and promote our services.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Nurture and maintain relationships with existing clients to identify additional opportunities for collaboration.

  • Ensure client satisfaction through effective communication and responsiveness.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sustainability, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in business development, sales, or a similar role, preferably within the sustainability or environmental sector.

  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of sustainability principles and trends.

  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.

  • Results-driven with a strategic mindset.

  • Familiarity with CRM systems and sales tools.
